Pearlweave Fabric & Shoyoroll
collabs
Pearl weave fabric was developed primarily for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) gis, but its exact date of invention is not clearly documented. It emerged as a response to the need for a durable, lightweight, and breathable fabric for BJJ practitioners. The fabric became popular in the late 20th century as BJJ grew in popularity globally, particularly in the 1990s with the rise of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and the Gracie family’s influence.
Shoyoroll is the leader in the new wave of Jiu Jitsu, creating the movst innovative Gis and fabric. They worked with our team to source authentic 1st generation pearl weave cotton to create a low crown cap, as well as a gi that has dual usage.
